Apple fritters are the unsung hero of the donut case. Chunks of apple. Cinnamon. Glaze. Fried. Irresistible.
No deep fryer required. Just a skillet, fresh apples, and 30 minutes. Better than the drive-thru. (And you don’t have to get dressed.)

Makes 8-10 fritters.
Make the Batter
Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl.
In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
Combine wet and dry. Stir until just mixed. Fold in diced apples.
Heat the Oil
Heat 1 inch of oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Fritters
Drop spoonfuls of batter (about ¼ cup each) into hot oil. Flatten slightly with the back of a spoon.
Fry 2-3 minutes per side until deep golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
Make the Glaze
Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth and pourable.
Glaze and Serve
Dip warm fritters in glaze or drizzle over the top. Let set 2 minutes.
Serve warm. Don’t share. (Okay, share a little.)
Summary
Prep Time: 10 minutes | Cook Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 25-30 minutes
Yield: 8-10 fritters
Difficulty: Easy
Storage Notes
Best Fresh:
Fritters are best warm, straight from the oil. Leftovers are good but less crispy.
Reheat:
Air fryer at 350°F for 4-5 minutes. Oven at 375°F for 8-10 minutes. Not the microwave.
Pro Tip:
- Don’t overmix the batter. Lumpy = tender fritters. Smooth = tough fritters.
